me recuerda que hacía un cierto tiempo que quería hablar de los &lt;a href="http://www.bidibooks.com/" title="Bidibooks"&gt;Bidibooks&lt;/a&gt; de la editorial coruñesa &lt;a href="http://www.netbiblo.com/" title="Editorial Netbiblo"&gt;Netbiblo&lt;/a&gt;, una integración interesante entre el libro impreso y los &lt;a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/C%C3%B3digo_QR" title="Código QR - Wikipedia (ES)"&gt;códigos QR&lt;/a&gt;: desde las páginas del libro, los códigos dan acceso a material extendido sobre las imágenes o textos de las páginas, desde definiciones de la Wikipedia, hasta fotos en Flickr o vídeos en YouTube.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;La idea es brindar una integración de contenidos &lt;em&gt;online&lt;/em&gt; con el medio impreso mediante el uso de un dispositivo lector, típicamente un  teléfono móvil, e idealmente desde una conexión WiFi que permita un acceso rápido a la información. La semana pasada estuve con Carlos Iglesias, CEO de Netbiblo, viendo los libros y hablando de algunos otros temas, y la verdad es que me gustó el planteamiento de uso y la viveza que le da al libro la posibilidad de complementarlo con la información extendida que proviene de la red, mediante una herramienta que integra el formato papel en una interacción muy parecida a lo que es la navegación en un medio completamente electrónico. Hasta ese momento no había utilizado prácticamente para nada los códigos QR, y la experiencia se me hizo la mar de interesante, además de dejarme pensando en las posibilidades que puede tener para otro tipo de contenidos que jueguen posiblemente en la interfaz entre libro y blog.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Los libros editados por el momento son guías de ciudades (&lt;a href="http://www.bidimobile.com/bidibooks/urban%20visions.html" title="Urban Visions - Bidibooks"&gt;Urban Visions&lt;/a&gt;) y libros fotográficos (&lt;a href="http://www.bidimobile.com/bidibooks/world%20visions.html" title="World Visions - Bidibooks"&gt;World Visions&lt;/a&gt;), publicados en seis idiomas y con distribución planificada para España, Portugal, Francia, Italia, Alemania, Inglaterra y Japón antes de final de año. Son la primera incursión de la editorial Netbiblo, dedicada habitualmente al libro técnico, en el mercado de consumo. Users of typical online Web applications are only&lt;br /&gt;able to use the applications while they have a connection to the Internet.&lt;br /&gt;When they go offline, they can no longer check their e-mail, browse their&lt;br /&gt;calendar appointments, or prepare presentations with their online tools.&lt;br /&gt;Meanwhile, native applications provide those features: e-mail clients&lt;br /&gt;cache folders locally, calendars store their events locally, presentation&lt;br /&gt;packages store their data files locally. In addition, while offline,&lt;br /&gt;users are dependent on their HTTP cache to obtain the application at all,&lt;br /&gt;since they cannot contact the server to get the latest copy. The HTML 5&lt;br /&gt;specification provides two solutions to this: a SQL-based database API&lt;br /&gt;for storing data locally, and an offline application HTTP cache for&lt;br /&gt;ensuring applications are available even when the user is not connected&lt;br /&gt;to their network. This document highlights these features (SQL, offline&lt;br /&gt;application caching APIs as well as online/offline events, status, and&lt;br /&gt;the localStorage API) from HTML 5 and provides brief tutorials on how&lt;br /&gt;these features might be used to create Web applications that work offline...&lt;br /&gt;(1) The client-side SQL database in HTML 5 enables structured data storage.&lt;br /&gt;This can be used to store e-mails locally for an e-mail application or&lt;br /&gt;for a cart in an online shopping site. Y no lo digo sólo por los historiadores, sino por la utilidad misma de esa información en el tiempo", explica, preocupado de que archivos de datos puedan perderse.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Cerf aboga por la creación de una infraestuctura que no dependa de la URL. Se trata de utilizar la capacidad de procesamiento y de almacenamiento de servidores y ordenadores repartidos por todo el mundo y unidos entre sí a través de Internet. Ya emplea este sistema Amazon, que desde hace un año ofrece servicios de hosting, y en breve tienen previsto hacerlo Google, IBM y Sun Microsystems. Y entre los usuarios finales destaca el New York Times, el principal cliente de Amazon.&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;hr size="2" color="#dcdcdc" style="margin: 2px 4px" /&gt;&lt;div style="text-align:left;"&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;  El cloud computing resulta muy barato y, para aprovechar su potencia, basta con desarrollar una capa de software que permite gestionar los recursos y las herramientas de programación. Movimientos como el de &lt;a href="http://gigaom.com/2007/09/05/facebook-open-to-public-search/" title=" Facebook Opens Up To Public Search - GigaOM" target="_blank"&gt;Facebook anunciando la apertura controlada de sus perfiles de usuario&lt;/a&gt;, en un intento de construir las nuevas paginas blancas, están ahora siendo contraatacados por Google mediante el anuncio de su &lt;a href="http://www.google.com/help/profile/" title="About the Google Profile" target="_blank"&gt;Google Profile&lt;/a&gt;, un movimiento sin duda polémico porque entronca con una de las preocupaciones más habituales de los usuarios: ¿qué sabe realmente Google de mí cuando combina todos los servicios que me ofrece?&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;La página, con sólo tres preguntas y escasamente cinco líneas de respuesta, deja claro que pretende representar a las personas en función del uso que hacen de los productos de la compañía, permitiendo así a terceros tener una cierta idea de quién eres y a qué te dedicas, pero siempre de acuerdo a tu control y a tu voluntad de compartir tanto o tan poco como desees. A partir del momento en que creas un Google Profile, su información publica puede ser mostrada a las personas y aparecer como resultado de una búsqueda por tu nombre o tus datos como si fuera una guía telefónica, lo que nos llevará seguramente en breve a un escenario en que los servicios de SEO serán demandados a nivel personal. Pues vamos a ver una pequeña lista, recordando que la versión final está prevista para septiembre de este año, aunque para abril deberíamos empezar a ver las primeras betas.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name="more"&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;   &lt;p&gt;A sumar a la versión nativa para Mac, que muchos usuarios esperamos con ansia desde hace tiempo, hay que añadir una versión para Vista, con integración con el sistema operativo de Microsoft. No han especificado exactamente las mejoras, pero imagino que vendrán a nivel de integración visual.&lt;/p&gt;   &lt;p&gt;Y al soporte de PDF se le añaden muchos otros formatos. Además de OpenXML, el de Office 2007, también podremos editar wikis desde el propio programa y blogs en Wordpress y Movable Type. Por cierto, que todas las aplicaciones podrán grabar  ficheros “duales”, que pueden verse como un PDF o editarse como un documento.Nativamente, también dispondrá de soporte de Latex, ideal para introducir fórmulas complejas.&lt;/p&gt;      &lt;p&gt;Al estilo de Firefox, OpenOffice.org 3 también recibirá extensiones, con las que se podrán aumentar las funcionalidades del programa. Entre algunas de las que ya existen encontramos integración con Google Docs, control de presentaciones a través del móvil o control de versiones de documentos con Subversion.&lt;/p&gt;   &lt;p&gt;Una nueva aplicación se unirá a las disponibles hasta ahora y, según los desarrollos, permitirá sustituir completamente a Outlook. Esta aplicación integrará el correo electrónico, calendario, gestión de tareas y conectividad con servidores externos como aquellos que soporten iCal, Google Calendar o servidores CalDAV.&lt;/p&gt;   &lt;p&gt;Finalmente, dispondremos de un módulo de informes, que se podrán generar a partir de los datos almacenados en Base, la aplicación de bases de datos.&lt;/p&gt;   &lt;p&gt;Vemos como esta nueva versión supondrá más que un simple lavado de cara y esperemos sea la que consiga implantarse de forma definitiva entre los usuarios. Lo que en otras palabras se llama, hacerle el trabajo sucio. En esta ocasión, han lanzado &lt;strong&gt;Google Social Graph&lt;/strong&gt; que es un buscador social basado en el microformato &lt;strong&gt;XFN&lt;/strong&gt; y en la especificación &lt;acronym title="amigo de un amigo - friend of a friend"&gt;FOAF&lt;/acronym&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;   &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Google Social Graph&lt;/strong&gt; recupera las &lt;em&gt;relaciones con nuestros contactos&lt;/em&gt; utilizando las URLs que le proporcionemos de nuestros perfiles web, como el de &lt;a href="http://www.genbeta.com/tag/flickr"&gt;Flickr&lt;/a&gt; o el de &lt;a href="http://www.genbeta.com/tag/twitter"&gt;Twitter&lt;/a&gt;. En el caso de que el blog o aplicación web lo facilite, analiza los datos existentes en nuestras páginas de usuario donde cada enlace tiene especificada la relación con el mismo gracias al &lt;strong&gt;atributo rel&lt;/strong&gt;, por ejemplo, &lt;em&gt;rel=contact&lt;/em&gt;. &lt;a name="more"&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;   &lt;p&gt;Esto no es nuevo, ya que infinidad de servicios proveen de los mismos y gran cantidad de CMS, como &lt;strong&gt;Wordpress&lt;/strong&gt; o &lt;strong&gt;Movable Type&lt;/strong&gt;, son capaces de indicar la relación con los enlaces de nuestro &lt;em&gt;blogroll&lt;/em&gt;. Ahora conocemos otra forma de hacer eso mismo pero en cualquier plataforma y página.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Se trata de Escaloop, y nos permite elaborar un &lt;em&gt;widget/badge&lt;/em&gt; con el contenido de hasta 20 sitios del estilo del.icio.us, Twitter, Flickr, LastFM o Tumblr, por citar sólo algunos, con sólo proporcionar la dirección del feed.
